About this treat
Necks take more work than feet, which is the point. They are denser and meatier, and a good one keeps a determined chewer busy for a while.
We trim off loose skin and fat before drying. That keeps the necks fresher for longer and much less greasy in your hand.
Necks are a medium-to-large-dog treat. A small dog can try to swallow one whole, so we don't recommend them under 10 kg.
How we make it
- Necks arrive fresh the same morning.
- Loose skin and fat are trimmed by hand.
- Each batch is blanched until the core is cooked through. The bones make this slower than feet.
- About 14 hours of slow drying.
- We check the thickest piece is dry right to the centre before it is packed.
